Position: Warehouse Associate
Job Description:
We are currently seeking dedicated Warehouse Associates to join our team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include accurately pulling and staging freight based on manifests, assisting drivers with loading and unloading trucks, and performing various material handling tasks such as picking, packing, scanning, and counting products. It is essential to maintain a strong focus on timeliness, accurate packaging, and adherence to defined systems and instructions. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying and documenting overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D), as well as operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe manner. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow detailed instructions, and maintain a secure work environment in accordance with TSA and OSHA guidelines are key aspects of this role.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize manifests to efficiently pull routes, stage freight, and provide assistance to drivers during the loading and unloading process.
- Perform material handling tasks such as picking, packing, scanning, kitting (as applicable), and counting products with precision and accuracy.
- Ensure timely completion of packaging and system-related work, paying close attention to detail.
- Identify and document overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other relevant machinery.
- Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Create and maintain a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to TSA and OSHA guidelines.
- Perform any other assigned duties to contribute to the overall efficiency of warehouse operations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and utilizing banding/shrink wrap materials.
- Previous experience using RF scan guns is required.
- Possession of forklift certifications is preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including occasional weekends.
- Strong reading and comprehension skills to understand and follow work instructions effectively.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate well with colleagues.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Capable of lifting 50+ pounds unassisted.
- Fluency in spoken, written, and reading English.
Additional Job Details:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking. Warehouse associates must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use their hands, reach, bend, and lift objects above their head. The ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted and operate pallet jacks and forklifts is necessary.
